Beloved,
To confess your sin is not to recite it otherwise, you could have never been born again, since it was impossible for you to recite all the sins that you had committed up to that point.
To confess your sin is to have the heart attitude that says, “Yup, I was wrong” and then to receive your forgiveness. 1 John 1:9.
Just regretting what you did or said is not confessing your sin, but it can bring you to a heart condition that admits that what you did was wrong.
But unless you also receive your forgiveness, you have not confessed the sin, you have not gotten rid of it.
Your forgiveness is just as much a done deal as the forgiveness of the sins of someone who is not a Christian. They have to receive their forgiveness to get born again, but you have to receive your forgiveness and be cleansed.
So, refuse to wallow in self condemnation if you miss it, allow your heart to admit the sin, receive your forgiveness, and forget about it, just like our Father does and walk on in liberty and righteousness in Him.
I love you,
Pastor Shina
