Beloved,
Did you know that you can not Love (Agape) anyone except by Faith? There is no other way to Love (Agape). Not even for God. Therefore, saying “I love you by faith“ is a misunderstanding of Love (Agape) because you couldn’t Love (Agape) them otherwise, anyway! What you really said was “ I do not like you but I’m not going to act on that.“
“Like” is based on how nice the person/thing acts, how nice they look, smell, sound etc.
Love (Agape) is based on a decision of your will irrespective of how the person or thing looks or acts. Hence we are commanded to Love (Agape) our enemies. Matthew 5:44.
We are not commanded to like our enemies! That would be impossible! Even God does not like his enemies! But God loves His enemies! So can we! So must we!
So, let’s all get to work, the spiritual work, of loving people and stay at it! It is a commandment, not a suggestion. Remember, “love NEVER fails!“ 1 Corinthians 13:8.
