Beloved,
As we learn to quickly forgive people when they offend us, let us also work on not being too easily offended in the first place! 1 Corinthians 13:5 says Love is not easily provoked!
Sometimes offense is not dished to us as much as we take offense! For example, Jesus never dished any offense, but people took offense at Him! Mark 6:3.
Offense is a favorite weapon of the devil to steal the Word, peace, joy etc from us. Mark 4:16-17. We can’t afford that so let us get to work, what do you say?
Rather than take offense, say in empathy, “They are having a bad day,“ or “They didn’t mean it that way.” That is like saying, “Lord, forgive them, for they know not what they do or say.“
