Beloved,
In Genesis 2:17, God told Adam and Eve that death would be the result of eating the forbidden fruit.
In Genesis 3:1, Satan showed up to discuss the subject of death with the goal to steal the power of death from Adam and Eve.
As the cunning evil that he is, he did not start with that subject matter. He started with the beautiful, attractive, compelling almost irresistible fruit and convinced Eve, and Eve Adam, to disobey God and eat it.
He knew that would transfer their authority, including over death, to him. It did. See Romans 6:16.
He retained that power until Jesus rose from the dead and took it from him. Heb 2:14.
Beloved, do not be ignorant of the devices of the enemy! 2 Corinthians 2:11.
