How about more self-denial in 2026? Matthew 16:24 says, “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
Jesse Duplantis says self-denial means telling yourself “No” and being firm about it. Here is how that breaks down:
You must be able to tell your eyes, “No!”
You must be able to tell your ears “No!”
You must be able to tell your nose “No!”
You must be able to tell your tongue “No!”
You must be able to tell your taste buds “No!”
You must be able to tell you emotions and feelings “No!”
And you must do so ever increasingly!
That would make for a wonderful year and be pleasing to the Lord.
