Beloved,
I know that you regret it when you sin. However even after they confess the sin too many believers often wallow in regret for days or weeks, although the Lord cleansed them of the sin if their confession was heartfelt. Romans 8:33,34.
On the other hand, how come we do not hold a gold-medal-award ceremony and celebrate our victory over temptation whenever we resist sin and score a spiritual victory? We should!
It takes the devil a while to scheme and get the situation just right for you to fall in sin. So when you resist temptation, you have just cost him serious time and effort! You should rub it in by celebrating your victory!
Knock down the spirit of condemnation by refusing to grieve over sin after you have confessed it, but celebrate your victories over temptation profusely.
If you will make a point to notice and celebrate your victories over temptation you will be highly motivated to get more of them!
