Beloved,
Never let the traditions of men rob you of enjoying the abundant life Jesus paid so dearly for you to have! Here is one such tradition.
Luke 10:38 says that Martha received Jesus into her house.
It looks everybody Jesus dealt with had a house except Him! Martha had a house! Peter had a house! Matthew 8:15. The centurion had a house! Matthew 8:8. But poor ol’Jesus couldn’t afford a house!
“Well, He wasn’t going to be here for a long time so He didn’t need a house!” Do you realize the idiocy of that thought? Please forgive me, I don’t mean to insult your intelligence, but I am led to speak plainly about this issue.
If you left your city right now and went to another city and you were going to be there for 3 1/2 years would you not get your own place? An apartment or a house? You would not even be in a hotel that long! Besides that, if Jesus didn’t have a house, how come you have one or want one!? Aren’t you supposed to be following Jesus and imitating Him, Beloved? Don’t let the traditions of men rob you!
